Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults Level 1
HEALTHCARE AND SAFETY TRAINING
Previously known as Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA), this is an introductory course designed in line with local and national safeguarding procedures, All Wales Induction Framework and QCF Framework. This qualification provides learners with the knowledge of safeguarding and will help you to recognise and know what to do if you believe an adult is at risk.
Who should attend?
This course is essential for all those who work or volunteer directly with adults at risk of danger, harm and/or abuse.
By the end of the course, you will:
- Definitions within safeguarding
- Who is at risk
- Different forms of danger, harm and/or abuse
- Signs and symptoms of the different forms
- Reporting and recording
- Understand what is meant by radicalisation and prevention
Benefits of the Course
Learners will be provided with the knowledge and skills of how to identify and work with adult safeguarding situations, allowing then to feel confident with their roles. Learners will be provided with case studies to adopt a problem-solving approach to difficult situations.
Learners will undergo formative assessments throughout the delivery, along with multiple case studies.
This course is delivered over 3 hours.
Courses can be carried out at our fit for purpose venue, details below, or your chosen venue. Courses carried out off-site will undergo a rigorous risk assessment to ensure suitability for the delivery of your session.
